Late night No.1

Well as I suspected yesterday that it was going to be a late night – it was! … Put it this way, the birds were singing when I decided it was time for bed!

But it was an extremely productive night. I always find the first few hours the most important when I’m inspired; I like to get down as many ideas as possible.

The problem now is that I have got so many ideas, and within different disciplines – Where do I go from here?

…Can I somehow fuse these ideas together and forge them into a coherent whole?

…So many possibilities and yet so little time!

Here’s a little taste of one of the avenues I was exploring

Stay tuned for more….

And on it goes again...

That’s it. The deed is done.

I have fully and completely enjoyed every second of this process,
from concept to finished article.
I think I will be revisiting this technique again fairly soon,
such was my enjoyment.
I have many more ideas to explore with the materials that I have used.

Now over to Damian Clark for the next round of creative play.
Have a huge amount of fun and good luck mate.

Creative Wounds

Yes Robin, I have touched on this process before but not for many years now.
I have got many cuts and a few burn blisters all over my hands. All in the name of creativity.

Great to see you trying something different, and really exciting to watch how the blog is developing now it has more on it. I am away from the office from today and dont get back until Tues 7 July, so look forward to seeing its progression when I get back.

Teaser Sketches

I have been playing around with a few ideas of how best to proceed and have settled on the medium that I want to use. Once I had decided on the materials I set to sketching out a few images. Here are some teaser shots from my sketches. What on earth could it be?

Keep watching!

PTP moves on. Feeling creative.

Just received the parcel from Andrew.

Looking forward to getting my teeth into this. Many ideas have sprung to mind in response to the artwork that Andrew has produced. I am going to make a pot of coffee and mull this over for a while. Watch this space!

By the way, nice work Mr Warburton!

Mike Barrett – Emelbi.

Interesting work

Andrew, this artwork looks excellent, what are the materials that you have used, looks very tactile. Why did you find it so difficult to produce it? Well done and good luck to Michael, looking forward to see what you come up with, any clues?

Robin Widdowson, Loca

How difficult was that?

Well, I have finally finished my piece of "Art". It was a lot more difficult than I thought it would be but I have thoroughly enjoyed the process. I was able to bring together lots of ideas and techniques that I have wanted to do for ages. What you may think of the final outcome I am not sure but I have made something that I am pleased with.

The baton has now been passed to Michael Barrett. Good Luck.

Hello "passtheparcelers",

I received on Friday my art from Dawn. Slightly earlier than I expected and unfortunately this coincided with me taking some time out to go round the degree shows on Friday and Saturday, the impromptu “Art Hike” at Lady Bower in Derbyshire on Sunday and a couple of day’s holiday at the seaside. That is why this post is so late, sorry. In that time I have not been idle and there are lots of ideas going on in my head that I have taken from Dawns art work. It has been difficult to narrow down those ideas because there were so many things that I would like to do that came from the art work. Give me a day or so and I will give you a taster of what I have decided to create.

Sneak previews

These artworks look great. I really appreciate that you have both used techniques and mediums that you dont apply to your usual creative practice. How was it, did you enjoy the process?

Passing it on

When I opened the parcel I was really surprised to get some Ideas straight away. Chris is right, having a deadline really makes a difference. Due to work commitments I haven't got the luxury of time but I am pleased with the results. The parcel is ready to go to the next person on the list - Andrew Warburton...I hope you find your inspiration from it easily Andrew.

Here's a little snippet of what I have been doing.

First parcel passed

Hi all, Starting this was always going to be difficult however Dawn should now have my 'piece'. I REALLY enjoyed it once i started. Having a project deadline for this really helped me produce. I don't want to give too much away at this stage but the name of the project itself influenced my thinking in the end. It will be really interesting to see how something personal to me becomes very quickly abstracted and reinterpreted by each person involved. Cheers, Chris - Swink Design

Have you any sneak preview images?

Robin Widdowson, Loca
Its amazing that the owner remembered you after so many years, did you tell him what you are doing now and about the project? How was the paper stretching? I havent had a go at that since college, what a breath of fresh air. I hope that the artwork is going well and that you are enjoying the process, cant wait to see it.

Project start

Hi all, thank you Michael for spending the time setting this up! I stretched my paper the other day... first time in years. I also went back into the art store i used to frequent when i did my foundation course in Bradford. "I haven't seen you in twenty years" the owner said. Anyway must dash. Lets all hope this works!
